Chair Massage

Not every client is comfortable on the table.  In the cases of pain management and trigger point therapy, it may be better to sit upright during the massage.  Time and location may also be factors that make seated massage more suitable for my clients.

Companies across the country are also using chair massage services to make work less of a pain for employees.  Desk work often results in lower back pain over time.  Repetitive motion injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, are common to office workers.  A short "stress-buster" massage relieves tension in the neck, back, and shoulder muscles, reducing irritability and increasing productivity.Studies done by the Touch Research Institute show that the benefits of chair massage have quick results.  Immediately after massage sessions, the subjects in the study experienced a change in brain waves and were able to complete a set of math problems in less time and with fewer errors.  And, after 5 weeks, the same subjects reported reduced job stress and elevated moods on top of the usual benefits of massage - relief of muscle tension, revitalized energy, and a stronger immune system.

My massage chair is portable and light weight, allowing me to set it up in virtually any office or break room so that massage can be performed in the workplace.  Clients are seated upright on the chair and remain fully clothed.  No oils are used during chair massage, so there is no need to worry about stains on clothing.  Each "stress-buster" session lasts 10 - 20 minutes.

For pain management, chair massage costs $1.00 per minute for clients who choose to come to my farm studio.

For corporate accounts, chair massages cost $15.00 each plus mileage (over 30 miles from the farm).  Discounts may be offered for larger groups.  Employers should call me at (919) 553-2992 or e-mail me for a quote specific to your office requirements.
