About Mary Bevier

I was born in 1964 and grew up on my parents' farm, where I now live with my husband Wade and our pets.  I graduated from Clayton High School in 1982, and went on to study Engineering and Fine Arts at Tulane University in New Orleans.

After college, my interest in herbs, alternative medicine, and man's relationship with nature led me to the healing arts - first, as and herbalist, and later as a massage therapist.  I was director of the Herb Society of Wake County's herb garden (1995-1997), and served as the HSWC co-President in 1997.  I also served as the newsletter editor, and as a board member of the North Carolina Herb Association (1997-1999).  Since then, I have devoted my time to managing the farm and helping it grow into a place for learning and healing.

While caring for my favorite Aunt during her battle with thyroid cancer, I discovered my talent for healing touch.  Life changes paved the way for me to go back to college and study Therapeutic Massage in 2005.  I graduated with a 4.0 average from the Therapeutic Massage program at Johnston Community College, and passed the National Certification exam for Bodywork and Massage Therapy (NCBMT) in 2006.  Soon afterward, I became a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (LMBT).

Now, besides offering massage for relaxation and pain management, I lead monthly country living workshops on the farm and offer a variety of plants from my greenhouses.  I also make and present herbal products and crafts for sale in my little shop on the farm and at festivals throughout the area.
